Healthy Lifestyles Grants 2008 for Schools and Early Years Setting in the Heart of Birmingham
This new small grants programme is for schools and early years settings based in the Heart of Birmingham teaching Primary Care Trust area. This currently includes the following wards:
Aston, Handsworth Wood, Ladywood, Lozells and East Handsworth, Nechells, Oscott, Perry Barr, Soho, Sparkbrook and Springfield.
The programme provides a chance for schools and early years settings
to obtain funding for a variety of activities that encourage children and/or
their parents/carers to be more active and eat a healthier diet.
Reduce barriers to and promote the uptake of
healthy eating and/or physical activity
Increase physical levels of children in the Heart of Birmingham area
Increase levels of
healthy eating and good nutrition for children in the Heart of Birmingham area
Reduce barriers to and promote the uptake of healthy eating and/or physical activity
Increase levels of healthy eating and good nutrition for children in the Heart of Birmingham area
Grants of up to £7,000 were available. The programme closed for applications on Thursday 17th July 2008.
The Grant Panel will meet on 15th September 2008 to assess submitted applications.
Healthy Lifestyles Grants 2008 for Voluntary Community Organisations in the Heart of Birmingham
This small grants programme is closed for 2008. The programme was open to voluntary and community groups working in the Heart of Birmingham teaching Primary Care Trust area - which is the wards of Aston, Handsworth Wood, Ladywood, Lozells and East Handsworth, Nechells, Oscott, Perry Barr, Soho, Sparkbrook and Springfield.
The aim of the programme is to fund work by community organisations to support acitivities that tackle inequalities around diet, physical activity and obesity - particularly involving local people in deprived areas - encouraging people to:
- be more active
- eat a healthier diet
- improve understanding of obesity and promote healthy lifestyles.

Health and Communty Engagement Programme 2008
This brand new small grants programme was launched on 3rd December 2007 and closed for applications on 11th January 2008.
The programme aimed to increase the involvement of individuals and communities in:
- promoting health and wellbeing
- preventing illness
- management of illness
Only voluntary and community organisations based in the Heart of Birmingham teaching Primary Care Trust area were eligible to apply. Please click here for the list of organisations and projects that were funded following the Grant Assessment Panel meeting held on 12th March 2008.
The HCEP programme is funded by Health Exchange.
ChangeUp Birmingham - Small Grants Programme 2007/08
The Digbeth Trust has been commissioned to administer a small grants programme on behalf of the Birmingham ChangeUp Consortium. Small grants are available for organisations providing capacity building support to other organisations in Birmingham. Grants are available to enable capacity building organisations to increase the quality, range and/or coordination of their services.
PLEASE NOTE - ONLY A SMALL NUMBER OF GRANTS ARE LEFT.

Enterprising Communites Programme - Community Innovation Fund Project 2005-07.

Grants for community groups based in Enterprising Communities Programme area of East Birmingham. Grants awarded are in the region of £1,000 to £4,000.
